What the Lexicon says: He's the younger Dumbledore brother and was quite heavily flamed for practicing illegal charms on goats which indicates to me that he's a little too friendly with beasties if you get my hint. He was one of the original members of the Order and very close to his younger sister, Ariana, and one of the few who could keep her calm and stop her bursts of magic from hurting anyone. He despised his older brother Albus for his want of personal glory over family. During the war he helped channel people into the castle from his pub for the final battle which he too fought in. Before this he was the bar keep in the Hogs Head. Plotters: Gellert, Albus, Ariana, Kendra, Percival, Tom, Harry and some of the other trio members/families. PB: Thomas Dekkar Sexual Orientation: Hetero... but he does love his goats. x_x Personality: Aberforth is an odd morally ambiguous boy who always dabbled in the dodgy illegal activities---he was always wild and out of control in a way, never going by societies wishes and just doing whatever it was he pleased whenever it struck him to do so. He placed no value in education or worldly thoughts but was more concerned with family and being at home with them. It could be said that this idea of love and utter devotion came from the fact that he adored his younger sister whom needed the love and careful guidance of family in order to survive. Later in life Aberforth is very much a bitter old man with a lot of anger in his heart for his brother, he's hopeless and doesn't see fighting in a war as a worthy cause, especially not for his older brother for whom he harbors a deep resentment. Family: As stated above Aberforth is the younger son of the Dumbledore's, he despises his older brother Albus and adores his younger sister Ariana. His parents, Kendra and Percival, he respects greatly for their care of Ariana and utter devotion to the family which Albus lacks. Personal History: Aberforth was born in 1883. He's the younger son of Kendra and Percival Dumbledore. Aberforth was always an uncontrollable and extremely eccentric youth, he was off the walls so to speak and wild, never complying to anyone's wishes or indeed the authorities/laws of the wizarding or muggle society. He was the type of boy who would run the streets with the crews-who-try-be-gangs and get into a lot of nasty trouble. Although there was one soul who could calm his rampant, fiery spirit and that was his little sister, Ariana. When she got hurt by those nasty muggle boys Aberforth wanted to set his rage upon them but his father beat him to the fold and was sentenced to Azkaban for attacking the children, leaving the family without it's father and quite alone. After that Aberforth kept a closer eye on his little sister and the two shared a very close relationship to the point where Aberforth was the only one that was able to calm her down enough to keep her from her magical outbursts of rage and fear. During this time Albus went about in his magical and worldly ways while never caring for his family which caused the ultimate hatred in Aberforth's heart, why should personal glory matter more than the only family one will ever have? Early 1899 during a freak accident Ariana killed their mother Kendra and left the Dumbledore's parentless, Aberforth rages mostly at this because he'd been in Hogwarts at the time and believes that he could very well have saved the incident from occurring if he had been at home and not wasting his time on an education he would never use. So, he returned home to what was left of his family at which time Albus was preparing for his trip around the world but had to cancel it and in doing so met Gellert Grindelwald whom Aberforth also despised. He tried to convince Albus to leave them be and let him take care of Ariana, assuring him they would be fine, but of course the man refused and thus began the final destruction of the family. A few months after his meeting of Gellert Grindelwald in a mad fight between the three men, Ariana was killed and it was never known who cast the curse that did it. Aberforth had murder in his heart then and broke all ties with Albus after their sister's funeral (up until Albus's) and went about his ways as he would, getting into some trouble for his illegal dealing and practicing charms on goats but otherwise having little to do with anything at all. He later opened up a dodgy pub in Hogsmeade called the Hogs Head which he owned all the way up to his death. Through the second war Aberforth used the pub to channel people in to the castle and out of it again before sealing off the entrance to fight in the war himself.
